Susie is the founder of Pretty Deadly Self Defense, a system built from her 25 years of martial arts training, solo female travel, and lived experience as a violent crime survivor.

She is certified in domestic violence awareness and support (University of Sheffield), teen suicide prevention (OLLIE Foundation), human trafficking awareness and intervention (DisasterReady) and serves on the Board of Directors for Partnerships for Trauma Recovery in Berkeley.

Susie has taught self defense across the US and Europe since 2009 and created the first women’s self defense trainer certification accredited by NASM, AFAA, ISSA, and CIMSPA.
