Knife Attack Self Defense Workshop

Looking for a self defense class?

Why we're different

This episode of the Pretty Deadly podcast addresses a common misconception in self defense: that hitting specific targets, pressure points and even the groin are even possible in real life situations.

Frequently asked questions

What do I wear?

Fitness clothes are not required, but if you're more comfortable in sports or activewear, be sure to wear something you have a full range of movement in. You're very welcome to wear the clothes you wear every day so you feel confident moving in regular clothes too.

Do I need martial arts experience?

Nope! While Pretty Deadly Self Defense is based on martial arts movements and techniques, it is designed with the sole purpose of making those techniques accessible, easy to learn, and effective. Anyone can do them!

Will I get hurt?

We encourage safe training, which includes slow, controlled movements while learning the techniques as well as learning how to be a good training partner: how to hold a kick pad, how to receive/respond in a safe way, how to communicate your own limits to your partner.

What if I get triggered?

You never have to do anything you're not comfortable with. Your safety and comfort are our priority, including your emotional safety. All of our certified instructors have completed a 30-hour comprehensive certification course that includes trauma awareness & support, and we're here to support you.

How can I contact you?
